We are committed to reducing
the overhead costs on any project. Either by reusing information already being
gathered or by using the web to make better information available over a wider
range. Our aim is to save time, provide clearer instructions, reduce redundancy,
and ultimately save projects money.
We are always looking for
ways to improve our services and welcome any comments. Please send any comments
to welisten@kalaq.com
Simple file uploads
We have several areas for
uploading and viewing files. Only the contractor can upload files, all others
can open and view the files here.
To upload hit BROWSE, a new
window will open on your machine with your explore program. Locate a file saved
on your machine and double click - that will place that file name in the BROWSE
window. Type in a short description (19 letters max.) and hit UPLOAD. Your file
will be online. Easy.
File sizes are limited to 1
Megabyte.
Daily Reports
Standard daily form. Data from
this form also generates several secondary reports designed to save the project time
when updating progress reports and schedules. By simply filling out the daily form,
these extra reports are automatically generated.
Schedule
Uses the simple file upload format.
Both MS Project and Primavera have Internet friendly print files but both have limited
range. Print using Adobe Acrobat and upload PDF files for larger schedules. Upload
as many files as you feel are necessary including summary schedules, the original master
schedule, an updated progress schedule, and a few one and three week look-ahead
schedules. Uploading a file with the same name will replace that file online and update
the dates.
Project Organization
Uses the simple file upload format.
This area is for organization charts, phone/contact lists, unit rate lists, etc.
Meeting Notes
Also uses the simple file upload format.
Weekly meetings can be uploaded in MS Word or any other format. MS Word opens on your
local PC to open msword.doc files.
Request for Information
Our Request for Information form looks
like most of the rest and shouldn't be difficult to use. We do have some extra tricks
with our form. First, if you enter an email address in one of the top three boxes that
person will automatically be notified via email of the new RFI. If they login with
Architect/Engineer access privileges they can answer the RFI online anytime.
We also have the ability to upload files
for attaching to the RFI. You can take a picture of a problem and they can answer with a
sketch, catalog cut or detailed memo. Everyone can open the same original clean clear digital
file. Imagine getting a legible response within hours of posting the question.
You have to check out the RFI's in our
demo - this is so much better than the old print and fax system people are using today.
We will be adding some sorting and filtering capabilities soon.
Submittal and Procurement Logs
Uses the simple file upload format.
Generally three files, Submittal log from the home office, home and field purchasing logs.
Project Progress Photos
Again uses the simple file upload format.
Digital photos for viewing project progress. Use the lower pixel features on the camera.
Maximum file size is one Megabyte. Larger photos take longer to open.
Incomplete Work List
Our incomplete work list management system is what
makes online collaboration work. Anyone can enter any issue anytime. The contractor reviews,
approves and assigns the tasks to his crews. The crews and subcontractors can pull up and
easily identify their individual lists on their own. This is beautiful. Even if the contractor
ends up managing this list, just being able sort the tasks by trade or crew and providing smaller
work lists to their crews will save a lot of time.
All questionable or unclear tasks can be sorted
into a review group for the managers' meeting to discuss. Since this separate list is also online,
they can review the problem list before the meeting and bring solutions to the meeting rather
than discuss the problems.
Reports
Uses the simple file upload format. Upload
monthly project progress reports. Open to all viewers.
Safety
Uses the simple file upload format. Use this for
logging in crew safety meetings. Use any file format including scanned meeting/sign off sheets.
Custom
Uses the simple file upload format. Contractor's
custom file uploading area. Available for all to view.
Custom (private)
Uses the simple file upload format. Contractor's
area for uploading secure information not accessible to any other viewers except those with
contractors privileges.
Change Requests
Uses the simple file upload format. Upload any
files in any format. Sort this list by Area, Trade, Date Ranges or Reference Number.
T&M Forms
Uses the simple file upload format. Upload files
for T&M Projects or Force Account directives. Can also be used for uploading cost proposals for
RFP's. Sort list by Area, Trade, Date range or Reference Numbers.
